Please join us Wednesday, December 17th at Eno House in Hillsborough, NC for “Weave & Spin,” a performance series curated and hosted by poet Morrow Dowdle, focused on voices that have waited too long to be heard. Performance begins at 7:00 p.m. Free admission. Doors open at 6:40 p.m. Must be 18 and older to attend. WE HAVE SUSPENDED OUR OPEN MIC FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE, SO THERE WILL BE NO OPEN MIC FOLLOWING THE PERFORMANCE.
OUR FEATURED PERFORMERS FOR NOVEMBER ARE POETS CLAIRE HERMANN & PAUL JONES!
Claire Hermann is a poet and activist from central North Carolina. Her work has appeared as a Split This Rock Poem of the Week, in Poet Lore, Terrain, Prime Number, One, and elsewhere and has been nominated for Best of the Net. Her chapbook, Mixed State, is published by Dancing Girl Press. She has a weakness for farmers markets, foggy mornings, and justice.
Paul Jones was inducted into the NC State Computer Science Hall of Fame in 2021. His poetry has taken an unusual journey beyond Earth—a manuscript of his poems crashed into the moon's surface in 2019, while another lunar mission with his poems aboard successfully landed in February 2024. Jones’s recent work has appeared in Rattle, Hudson Review, IEEE Spectrum, Salvation South, Tar River Poetry, and Southern Poetry Review, as well as in anthologies including Best American Erotic Poems (From 1800 to the Present). His first collection, Something Wonderful, was published by Redhawk Publications in 2021, followed by Something Necessary in September 2024.
