Please join us Wednesday, March 18th at Eno House in Hillsborough, NC for “Weave & Spin,” a performance series curated and hosted by poet Morrow Dowdle, focused on voices that have waited too long to be heard. Performance begins at *** 6:00 p.m. *** Free admission. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. Must be 18 and older to attend. WE HAVE SUSPENDED OUR OPEN MIC FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE, SO THERE WILL BE NO OPEN MIC FOLLOWING THE PERFORMANCE.

This month, we'll be featuring Ren Bullock with Alison Hurwitz and Anna Weaver.

Lauren, also known as Ren, Bullock is a queer, transmasc Black and Vietnamese cultural organizer, writer, speaker, and educator. Lauren’s work has been featured by AFROPUNK.com, Button Poetry, The Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center, The Human Rights Campaign, and more. Lauren is a Kundiman, Watering Hole, Pink Door, and Obsidian Foundation fellow as well as a Susan Laughter Meyers and Furious Flower Poetry Prize finalist. Anna Weaver writes as a former soldier, a lover of flatlands, and a woman “with loyalties scattered over the landscape.” Her poems have appeared in Connotation Press, O-Dark-Thirty, One, Neologism Review, and elsewhere. Her first chapbook, Some Promise, is forthcoming in 2026-27 (Finishing Line Press). A founding member of the Third Angle Poets collective, she’s performed her poetry in 39 states and counting and hosts a vibrant open mic in downtown Raleigh. Find her at annaweaver.net.

Alison Hurwitz (she/her), is a former cellist and dancer who finds music in language. Nominated multiple times for both the Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net, Alison hosts the monthly online reading, Well-Versed Words. Published in South Dakota Review, Sky Island Journal, SWWIM and others, her work was acknowledged as a finalist for RockPaperPoem’s 2025 Poetry Award. When not writing, Alison officiates weddings and celebrations of life, takes long walks in the North Carolina woods with her husband, sons, and dog, and dances in her kitchen.
