Living with Challenging Dogs — Weekly Support Meeting
Details
Hello!
I'm Jacob, the guardian of a challenging dog. If that describes you too, I'd love for you to join me and others like you to talk about what it's like to live with and care for dogs who need extra support.
This group is intended for people in the Portland metro area living with dogs who struggle with reactivity, separation anxiety, bite incidents, overwhelming energy, multi-pet tension, ongoing medical care, or other behavior challenges that make daily life harder than expected. We meet online but may introduce in-person meetups in the future.
Each meeting follows this general structure:
- brief check-ins from participants
- facilitated group discussion about shared challenges and experiences
- a short wrap-up before closing
Because this is a small support group, please leave your cameras turned on. Seeing each other helps create a more comfortable, connected space and makes conversation feel more natural and supportive for everyone in the group.
To help create a supportive environment, participants are asked to keep what others share in the group confidential.
Living with a challenging dog can feel overwhelming and isolating, but you don’t have to figure it out on your own. This group is a place to connect with others who understand what you’re going through and to feel a little less alone in the process. See you there!
