Different origins of our careers.

Hi again!

Our previous meetup touched on the subject of how we do our jobs (https://www.meetup.com/Ljubljana-QA-meetup/events/238081071/) and was fairly specific. This time around we will touch on the subject of how we became testers and what are our origins.

This talk will be a lot less specific and is meant for a more general audience that is perhaps not aware of how you can become a tester/QA engineer.

As such it will be less of a presentation and more of an open debate on how someone can get into this line of work.

So please invite your friends along who would be interested to learn more about this career, how to start and what kind of skills you need for it.

The speakers for this event are:

• Katja Bastjančič - Before becoming a tester she studied japanology and pedagogy and worked as croupier in casinos.

• Gabrijela Hladnik - Worked as a developer and mathematician before discovering that testing is her passion.

• Jasmina Trlep - spontaneously switched from field of humanities to IT

• Igor Podobnik - Started off in Electrical Engineering and by pure chance ended up in IT

IMPORTANT: If you wish to present your history and point of view let us know as talks are expected to be short and so there is room for a few more people to present their experience :)
