Set in a 1930s European perfumery, She Loves Me follows Amalia and Georg, two salesclerks who aren’t quite the best of friends. After both respond to a "lonely hearts advertisement" in the newspaper, they now live for the love letters that they exchange, but the identity of their admirers remains unknown. Constantly bumping heads while on the job, the sparring coworkers can’t seem to find common ground. But little do they know the anonymous pen pals they have both been falling for happen to be each other! Join Amalia and Georg as they discover the identity of their true loves...and all the twists and turns along the way! She Loves Me's familiar story has inspired three Hollywood movies! Based on the play Parfumerie by Miklos Laszlo, it first inspired Ernest Lubitsch’s 1940 film The Shop Around the Corner, starring Margaret Sullavan and James Stewart. In the Good Old Summertime, the 1949 MGM musical starring Judy Garland and Van Johnson, reset the story in a music shop in turn-of-the-century Chicago. And Nora Ephron’s 1998 rom-com You’ve Got Mail cast Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan as rival bookstore owners in The Big Apple, replacing love letters with e-mails sent via slow-as-molasses dial-up internet.
