Details

Hiking is an excellent way to:

-help lose weight

-stay healthy and in shape

-meet people in a low-pressure atmosphere

-maintain better mental health by connection with the outdoors and people

SUNDAY, JUNE 29TH

MEET BETWEEN 8:50 AM AND 9 AM. We will start walking at 9 AM.

PUNCTUALITY POLICY

I recommend coming a few minutes early for time to park and find us. I’ve set it up as a window of time so there’s no confusion about when we’ll start walking. Please aim to arrive at 8:50 AM or earlier. If you’re running late, I am willing to wait a hot minute before we head out (so long as we know you’re coming) - but we cannot wait past the 9 AM start time. We may start walking earlier if everyone is present (that I know of).

PLEASE MESSAGE ME AT MY PHONE NUMBER IF YOU ARE RUNNING LATE AT LEAST FIVE MINUTES BEFORE 8:50.

Otherwise, I will assume you’re not coming. Unfortunately, I cannot leave my phone number on this platform, but will provide it privately once your RSVP is confirmed.

HOW LONG IS THE HIKE? About 1 hr 28 minutes.

HOW MANY MILES? 2.6 miles

WHAT’S THE ELEVATION? 682 feet

WHAT’S THE DIFFICULTY LEVEL? Moderate

(ALL of the hikes in this group are Moderate-level).

I highly recommend to dress and travel as light as possible on this one. No sweaters with a light backpack or fanny-pack recommended. Its a very high elevation, and since heat rises, every layer of clothing is felt.

Get to know this 2.6-mile out-and-back trail near Hacienda Heights, California. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 1 hr 28 minutes to complete. This is a very popular trail for hiking, horse-back riding, and walking, so you’ll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are October through July. Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in some areas.

A SAFETY NOTE:

This trail is also a popular spot for bikers. For safety and consideration, I ask everyone to pay attention and call out “bike!” if a biker needs to get by. We will need to step aside to the edge to let bikers pass.

WHAT TO BRING AND NOT TO BRING:

-1-2 water bottles

-comfortable clothes PLEASE DRESS LIGHT (I recommend fitness-wear with sneakers)

-Please DO NOT bring any heavy purses or bags. If you must bring something to hold extra items, I would recommend either a light-weight backpack or a fanny-pack.

-Mini trash bags (if bringing a dog) for poop pick-up.

RSVP POLICY

For ease of management, I had to limit the number of total attendees to a maximum of 15. Therefore, with limited space, I ask everyone to be courteous to their meetup-group neighbors by adjusting your RSVP in a timely manner as soon as you know your plans have changed.

IF YOUR PLANS CHANGE, PLEASE GIVE US THE COURTESY TO ADJUST YOUR RSVP AT LEAST 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE TO GIVE OTHERS THE CHANCE TO JOIN.

IS THERE A FEE? No

I recommend getting an app called All Trails, which is free to use. It gives you a full navigational layout of the trail with pictures. It has this trail and many others we will be using in the future.
