Why do people say "we must meet up"? but then don't?

Social isolation has possibly never been higher in the developed world. Third spaces' closure, cost of living issues, the legacy of 21/22 lockdowns and so-called social media have combined to make many people feel more isolated than ever.

The hope is that this pilot meeting will allow people in different geographic locations to share their experiences, and hopefully find a path to possible solutions, be it a network of local activities in person, mini festivals, literary or discussion groups.
