Fryman Canyon & Post-hike Poolside Party
Details
The scraggly ridges and precipitous canyons separating the San Fernando Valley from Hollywood and Beverly Hills harbor more than just a tangled net of serpentine streets and the homes of the rich and famous. Here and there small islands of open space remain where one can roam over sage-scented trails, deep forest canyons, year-round springs and partake of wide-ranging views of the San Fernando Valley in a peaceful, quiet atmosphere.
In addition to Fryman Canyon, our easy-to-moderate hike will also cover Wilacre Park and Coldwater Canyon Park. Perhaps we will head over to Franklin Canyon in search of Opie's fishin' pole.
We'll be meeting another group there: Grace's Make new Friends Enjoy the Outdoors. After said roaming we will drift over to her Studio City condo where she has graciously invited us for a poolside wine-and-cheeser. Feel free to bring something to help Grace out, but that is entirely optional.
I will send out Grace's address to the RSVPers.
Directions to Wilacre Park:
From the 101 Fwy, exit Laurel Canyon Blvd and travel south 1 mile. Turn right on Fryman Rd then turn right into park.
There is a $5.00(?) charge for parking. There is some parking on street, but most is posted as for residents only.
