Winter Holiday Potluck Party at Zuma Canyon (Beginners OK)
Details
Zuma! It is derived from the Chumash word for “abundance.” Let's celebrate our abundance during this holiday season with a hike and potluck party!
The Hike
Trails range from easy to strenuous. We'll stick with the easy to moderate Zuma Loop Trail -- beginner hikers ok.
Traveling along the base of Zuma Canyon, this trail features large and graceful sycamore, oak, willow and black walnut trees in a rare hardwood riparian environment. Also discover dry wash plant communities. These delicate looking plants have the ability to bend under the weight of raging waters, ensuring their survival year after year.

The Potluck
Bring food and drink to share. The mouth of Zuma Canyon has a nice picnic area with facilities, sheltered by a canopy of sycamore trees. Sara will be providing the decorations and settings. We can leave our stuff in the car until after hike.
This is going to lots of fun -- I can't wait!
