Flash Hike: El Escorpio and Ahmanson

Hike exploring the forbidden recesses of the Ahmanson and El Escorpio Ranches. Along the way we will view Castle Peak and caves the Chumash used to prepare their dead for burial.

Hike will be 6-8 miles with moderate elevation gain (except for a couple of short strenuous bits).

Directions: Go to the west end of Vanowen St and park on street

From the 101 freeway exit Valley Circle Boulevard. Head north to Vanowen St. Turn left. Park on street near the end of Vanowen (before the curve)

From the 118, exit Topanga Canyon, go south, turn right on Vanowen

Bring the essentials and a flashlight for the caves (or use one of mine)
