This will be a trip out of the Ventura harbor traveling to Santa Rosa island and back. The boat sails at 8:00 and you need to check in at least 45 minutes before departure. We will have 3-4 hours on the island and will pick a hike in the 2-3 hour range TBD.
You need to book the boat trip through the "Island Packers" website. We will meet in front of their office at 1601 Spinnaker Dr. The pin is not quite in the correct place. The building is about 1/4 mile further down the road. Please read all the information on the website to make sure you know what to do. This is my first trip to the island so we will learn together.
I added some information on the hike options as pictures. I think Torrey Pines would be a good choice.
I will bring a small ice chest which I will leave on the dock at Santa Rosa if you want to leave something there for the ride back instead of carrying it in the hike

Santa Rosa Island is the second largest island in the Channel Islands National Park, and one of the three β€œouter islands." Once you are there you are rewarded with great views that few in So-Cal get to see. Santa Rosa is noted for its Torrey Pines, which are only found there and in San Diego.

Several trails and roads traverse Santa Rosa Island, providing us with spectacular hiking opportunities. These trails and roads range from the relatively flat route to Water Canyon Beach to the rugged, mountainous path to Black Mountain.
