Rattlesnake Canyon, Tunnel Trail & Bag La Cumbre Peak
Details
Our next 2nd Saturday in Santa Barbara will take us to La Cumbre Peak, the highest peak in Santa Barbara at 3995 ft. You can read about the trails we'll be using here:
Rattlesnake Trail and Connector

Tunnel Trail

I would like to do this as a "loop" which will require us to meet at Skofield Park, then drive some of the cars a couple miles to the Tunnel Trail trailhead. We'll then take the Tunnel Trail all the way up to East Camino Cielo and La Cumbre Peak. On the way down well hang a left at the Connector Trail and return to Skofield Park via Rattlesnake Trail. We'll use the cars left behind to shuttle the morning drivers back to their cars at Tunnel.
Estimate the hike to be about a dozen miles with 3000 ft elevation gain. I haven't been on these trails but I have maps and gps tracks.
We will meet at Skofield Park and shuttle 2.4 miles to the Tunnel Trail trail head. Here is a map of the shuttle:
