🚘 Back to the Future Hike at China Flat (& Simi Peak) _ Lunch at Latigo Kid

On this one, Marty McFly will be taking us to China Flat, the 1885 location of the Seamus McFly farm. Seamus was/is/will-be Marty's great-great-grandfather. DeLoreans are no longer allowed on the trail so this will be a little strenuous.

The trail to China Flat is a difficult one, but makes an excellent introduction to the Simi Hills, with its awesome sandstone skyscrapers towering over flatland neighborhoods. The "flat" in China Flat is a splendid plateau carpeted with emerald green grass and covered by oak savannas.

We'll do a loop around China Flat, by a vernal pond and artifacts from its bygone ranching days. Along the way we will ascend to Simi Peak, the highest peak in the Simi Hills at 2,405 ft.

Hike will be a loop of appx. 8.5 miles with about 2000' total ascent

From the 101 Freeway in Agoura Hills, exit on Kanan and head north for about three miles.
