Local legend has it that some of Gaspar de Portola’s scouts spotted a goat atop a summit near Temescal Canyon and named it Goat Peak. More recently, when Will Rogers was asked if he wanted the peak renamed after himself, he replied. “No. I don’t want to rob the goat of his glory.”

But we can grab some of that glory! An HWD original, this is a strenuous 7.5 mile loop hike in Pacific Palisades. For more details and pics see https://www.hikingwithdean.com/event/goat-peak-will-rogers-rivas-canyon-loop/

🤚TOPANGA CANYON WILL BE CLOSED (between Pacific Coast Highway and Grand View Drive -- both lanes). IF YOU ARE COMING FROM THE VALLEY MAKE SURE TO USE THE 405 (IT’S USUALLY FASTER ANYWAY)
