VIP Event: GPS Class for Hikers

I get a lot of questions on the trail from GPS owners about GPS usage, but its difficult to give tutorials without stopping the entire group. There is more to these devices than orienteering and I don’t think the orienteering outings I have seen are adequate.

So I have come up with a hike, combined with a class, allowing us to stop and figure things out while on the move. The first part will consist of learning gps-speak and configuring your gps for a hike. During the 2nd part we will be using what we learned in first part during a hike.

We will have internet access, picnic benches (as desks) and a bathroom at the trailhead
