📣 11K Hike
Details
Thanks to all members. HWD has passed the 11,000 members mark and continues to be the largest hiking group in America and 2nd largest in the world (on a per leader basis)
We'll celebrate our 11K hike with a 6 mile hike and lunch at Malibu Seafood
Our hike will begin at sea level in Corral Canyon, the last undeveloped coastal canyon in Los Angeles County that flows freely to the ocean. We'll visit the old pig farm and climb some hills overlooking Pepperdine. Along the way we'll have fun checking out artifacts and mysterious buildings from a bygone era.
After the hike we'll have lunch next door at Malibu Seafood Patio. Kitchen opens at 11:00 AM. Maybe we'll spot some dolphins frolicking in the waves, or some celebrities.
🍷🍾They let you bring your own beverages including booze. So pack a cooler with your favorite beverage and enjoy a fresh seafood lunch by the ocean and trailhead -- you will deserve it! I'll bring some white wine.
Hike is about 6 miles with about 1,300 ft of total ascent and is rated Hike is rated MEDIUM. Some inclines are prolonged but not steep. See the hike ratings guide: https://www.meetup.com/localhikers/pages/29633850/HIKE_RATINGS_GUIDE/

Trail statistics are approximate. For safety purposes always assume they are underestimated. But don’t be disappointed if they are overestimated. Bring more water and snacks than you think you’ll need.
Trail descriptions are based on previous hikes. Current conditions are unknown until arrival. Expect the unexpected and plan accordingly.
