Caballero Canyon to Bent Arrow Trail & Garapito Creek

Details
Join us for a leisurely hike through the old stomping grounds of Edgar Rice Burroughs in Caballero Canyon in Tarzana.
Caballero Creek ought to be full of water today. If you've hiked Caballero Canyon in the past but never seen much water in the creek then you'll not want to miss this hike
The Caballero Canyon trail will take us to dirt Mullholland where we'll turn west for a bit then south on Bent Arrow trail to the fork at Fire Road 30 & Temescal Fire Road. At this juncture we'll take a side trip into Garapito Canyon and take our snack break by Garapito Creek. As I recall, there are places to site comfortably.
After our snack break we'll head back to Fire Road 30. From there we'll loop around (passing some restrooms) back to Caballero and return via the Pipeline Trail and more creek crossings making a "double lollipop."
Hike is about 8.5 miles with 2,000 ft total ascent and rated MEDIUM+. See the Hike Rating Guide
Meet at the Caballero Canyon trailhead on Reseda Bl. From the 101 Freeway, exit at Reseda Blvd and turn south. Drive for about 4 miles. There is parking on both sides of the street; the trailhead is on the left across the street from Braemar Country club.
