Stoney Point: Portrait of an American Crag
Details
Special DVD Release Party/Screening
"Stoney Point: Portrait of an American Crag" is based on the unique
history and climbing culture of a small city park in Chatsworth. Though often overlooked, few climbing areas can compare with the rich and storied history of Stoney Point.
http://photos2.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/2/a/a/a/event_142450922.jpegFor the last 80 years 'The Point' has served as a breeding ground for
some of America's greatest climbers. Royal Robbins, Yvon Chouinard, John Bachar, Michael Reardon and many more were all at one time or another Stoney locals. The marks they left behind are still visible today in the climbs they established and the community they helped develop.
'Portrait of an American Crag' is an in depth look into the origins
and development of one of the most influential yet misunderstood climbing areas in the country. Starting in the 1920's with Glen Dawson and the Sierra Club and ending with today's modern age bouldering revolution, this story covers almost a century and highlights key historical figures along the way.
