What we’re about
This group is for women who would like to get together for movies, happy hour, dinner, walks, or other events around town. We have a very wide-range of ages, so please, come one, come all! The point is that there are so many amazing people in our backyard, that it would be fun to meet people locally.
In the other group, we have organized some great stuff and we have attracted nice intimate groups, which has been great to get to know each other: happy hour at Norton Simon sculpture garden, taco Tuesday, movie night, a blues band, a movie screening at the Mexican consulate, local bites...I'm open to suggestions, and I am also looking for co-organizers. You can also take ownership and host an event.
My request -- I spend A LOT of time, thinking and planning and asking, how can I help create a great community? Therefore, my only request is that, if, for ANY reason, you need to cancel, please, out of respect for me and the group, please just let me know. Things happen, I know...I don't even ask for an explanation, I just want to get notification. Creating meetups are fun, but it also takes planning and work -- and if you want me to continue hosting great things for you to come to, please don't bum me out by not letting me know if you need to cancel. I really do understand things happen.
Let's make some great memories and friends!
Anna

NOTE: THIS IS NEXT WEEK -- in earlier email I put the wrong date, it is NEXT WEEK
Dear Ladies:
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NEXT WEEK --
THURSDAY JUNE 19th @4 to 7pm
RSVP VIA QR CODE FOR THE ADDRESSIt is with great sadness and shock that I am writing. I was devastated to learn that our dearest member Patty Fortlage passed away in a car accident. She was t-boned last Saturday morning as she was attempting to turn left at an intersection.
Many of you knew Patty, one of the most beautiful, talented souls in our group. She spent the last years of her life as a photographer, elevating women. She told her story as a photographer, chronicling her illnesses of 20 plus years, something no doctor, nor family/friends could understand.
I saw her two days before she passed. She told me of her plans to write a book and starting a movement to elevate women and help the world understand women's medical and health battles, because the medical establishment wanted to silence women, especially those who did not understand their issues.
Her photography and substack spoke to her deep and chronic pain. Yet she endured. She is a testament to the women in our group; she spent her last years, working to create a sisterhood. I hope we can honor her legacy.
There is a celebration of life, NEXT WEEK -- Thursday JUNE 19th. Details in the pictures AT BOTTOM. YOU MUST RSVP ALSO VIA THE QR CODE NOT JUST TO ME.
Much love to her and prayers to her family. I know she is dancing with angels. Here's to you Patty. Please smile upon the local ladies, just once in awhile, and know that you touched our lives deeply. We love you. Fly high with the angels!
