Climbing is a social activity and is meant to be enjoyed within the company of others. Along these lines, this meetup is a great way to meet new people. No experience necessary. All skill levels welcome.
We meet twice a week on Mesa Rim. On Mondays we do rope climbing and on Fridays we do bouldering upstairs. We also do outdoor excursions regularly when the weather allows it, but our “official” events take place indoors because it's a lot simpler from a logistical perspective.
This meetup is a collaborative, fun and chill environment where people can get to know each other and help each other grow as climbers. If you have been climbing for several years, great, come on in. If not, that's fine too. We are more than willing to show beginners the ropes.

Bouldering Night at Mesa Rim

This is one of our weekly climbing events. We meet up, we boulder upstairs, we help and cheer each other on, and then we head to [Tyson's Tacos](4905 Airport Blvd, Austin, TX 78751) (7 mins away) for tacos and drinks.
Never done bouldering before? No problem. We will show you the basics.
Note that this is our bouldering event and takes place on the second floor of Mesa Rim. Our rope climbing meetups are on Mondays.

- You should plan to arrive 15 minutes early so you can fill waivers and rent gear if needed, and also get top-rope certified. If you are new and think you will be late, please let the organizer know.
WAITLISTED? While we don't turn anyone away, as a matter of courtesy you should message one of the organizers to make sure they can accommodate you.

(Beginner-Friendly) Rope Climbing at Mesa Rim
Mesa Rim Climbing Center, 1205 Sheldon Cove Building 3, Austin, TX, USAre you looking to make new climbing friends and meet belay partners? Hello and welcome!
This is one of our weekly climbing events. We meet up, we climb top rope and lead, we help and cheer each other on, and then we head to [Tyson's Tacos](4905 Airport Blvd, Austin, TX 78751) (7 mins away) for tacos and drinks.
Never done rope-climbing before? No problem. We will pair you with experienced climbers and they can belay you. We can also teach you the basics of belaying if you would like to attempt to get certified (to be able to belay others).
Note that Mesa Rim only allows assisted-brake belay devices such as Gri Gris. If you have an ATC, you can borrow an ABD at the front desk.
