FOURTH ANNUAL EXPLORE NORTH COAST GET TOGETHER THINGY

May 2 thru May 5, 2013

All right folks this is it, time once again to come frolic on the the north coast with ENC. We missed some of you last year, due to questionable excuses. Well no worries life is about "it's never too late"! Explore North Coast has settled into a non commercial "get together" format to attract people that just want to come and play, explore, challenge, learn, push limits, meet people, try new things, I'm sure you get the idea. We curtail this event to all levels of paddlers from beginning flat water paddlers to a more advanced style of paddling. Detailed descriptions of all paddles plus maps can be found on our website calendar.www.explorenorthcoast.net (http://www.explorenorthcoast.net/) You can reach me at mikededman@hotmail.com or call me Home 707-839-1570 or Cell 559-804-4415.

We'll have one to two hosted paddles each of the four days, PLUS Helen Wilson will be available for private lessons on the third and a group lesson on the fourth. Please contact her directly at info@greenlandorbust.org to sign up.

Day 1 is our opener with an easy flat water paddle out to the spit on Stone Lagoon. We will launch at 4:00 PM And paddle along the beautiful shoreline to the spit and have a meal and general BS session. Please bring along what ever you would like to consume and/or share.

Day 2 will be a double hosted day. This is our introduction to Trinidad and some open ocean paddling. One group, led by Michael Morris, will be a safe easy paddle suited for all levels. Michael is an accomplished birder and knows our waters better than most. The second, led by Damon Maguire and myself, will cater to the more extreme paddler. Rock gardening, surfing, smack wall, etc.

Day 3 might just be a triple hosted paddle with Michael Morris showing off a beautiful section of the coastline at Crescent City. Damon and myself will be hoping for some nice surf at South Beach, if that doesn't pan out we'll be rock gardening. For those that don't want to travel to Crescent City, _______________ will lead a local flat water paddle at _______________. Crescent City has surf, rock gardening, plus gorgeous sight seeing opportunities.

Day 4 brings us back to Trinidad to accomplish everything we didn't get to on Friday. Along with both paddles described for Friday we'll have another option. Yep, we have an open water surfing opportunity this morning at the Coast Guard break. The surf sets up with a strong Ebb tide and a decent incoming swell. It's not Skookemchuk but it can be soooo much fun. This paddle is on a Sunday with a late start so you're going to "want" this one.
