Fun Run on Friday Hatchery to Stillmann Magee

Let's get started this year with a FUN RUN down the upper Moke From the Hatchery to Stillmann Magee Park. The river is flowing at 1800+ CFS this week and weather conditions could not be better.
We will meet at the parking lot at Stillman Magee Park to coordinate the shuttle of boats to the launch and park the retrieval vehicles in the lot ($5.00 fee on weekdays). We will then travel up Hwy 12 to the Fish Hatchery Van Assen Launch (Lot A). Parking at the launch lot is still free.
Water is running cold at this flow rate so dress for immersion in layers and dry gear if you have it. No sweats, jeans, or cotton clothing allowed. Water shoes are recommended as you will be launching and landing on steep ramps. PFD's are required to be WORN, not just carried on board. Paddling gloves are also recommended.
The river trail is clear for the most part throughout. There are a couple of known obstacles (trees) blocking parts of a couple of paddle paths. Both are easily avoided. Currents will be strong at this flow rate so Ferrying and Upstream Paddling skills are necessary, as well as reading water flows and eddys. All will be pointed out as needed on the run.
At this flow rate there may not be any usable interim takeouts in the first half of the run. There are a couple of landing areas just before we reach Stillman Magee takeout.
