Talk Details:
"The journey to multi-tenancy - A chequered past" - Daniel Finneran
Talk Abstract: This session will reach into the past to look at multi-tenancy (in systems long gone), we will examine how time and time again new systems/platforms and Operating Systems have forgotten the lessons of the past and had to bolt or fudge functionality together in order to meet the demands of multiple users. Brings us all the way to the present and the multi-tenancy problems we face with modern distributed systems (cough cough Kubernetes) and how we can solve these multi-tenancy issues today.
"Building Platforms with vcluster and Knative" - Mauricio Salatino
Talk Abstract: If you are tasked to build an internal developer platform conformed by multiple Kubernetes Clusters you will quickly realize that there are tools that can be shared across all these clusters. Looking at tools like Knative and Cert Manager which are commonly used to provide cluster wide capabilities (TLS and Serverless features) this presentation will show how by using vcluster plugins a single installation of these components can be shared to save on resources and management.
