Distance: 2 miles RT
Approx duration: < One hour
Elevation gain: < 200’
Difficulty: easy
Description: We will take the Lower Connector Trail 0.6 miles to the River Trail and continue 0.4 miles to the Flume waterfalls. This trail is almost entirely along the West Branch of the Ausable River and passes a beaver dam near the waterfalls.
This route is part of the Flume Trail network. Anyone who would like to extend their day has multiple hiking options at either end of our outing.
There is also parking at the Flume end, so anyone interested in going just one way can park a second car at that lot and leave from there.
Dress for the weather. Sturdy shoes recommended.
There is usually water on the trail at the beaver dam, so we will likely have to walk about 5’ through puddles.
