Meet by the car park area on Braemar at Dempsey.

Closest street address is 4128 Braemar Road East

Meet at 10:00, leave no later than 10:15

I'm not overly familiar with the trails in the Braemar Reservoir so this will be somewhat exploratory. Did part of the Dempsey Connector in February, want to explore more.

Expect some technical sections, with a bit of uphill for the cardio. Dress for the weather and highly recommend good hiking boots. We will turn around if the trails is too rough, slippery, or there's too much water to safely navigate any creek crossings

This walk is dog friendly. Please ensure your dog is properly socialized (with both people and other dogs) and responds to your commands. Respect park leash bylaws.

Details:
\- time = 2 to 3 hours\, depending on how far/fast we walk etc
\- distance = 6 km
\- elevation gain = \~ 120 m

Mixed use trail. Expect to encounter mountain bikers as this is part of the Dempsey/Baden Powel Trail system. Be aware of your surroundings!

Possible route:
\- from Braemar/Dempsey\, will access the trails via the stairs\, then continue east along the Dempsey Connector
\- eventually\, we'll reach the Baden Powell and then continue east along the BP
\- depending on how technical the trail is\, will continue along the BP to Mountain Highway $if too technical\, will retrace our steps and explore other trails in the reservoir$
\- exit the trail at Mountain Highway\. At this point\, we may decide to do a shorter\, more direct route back to where we started\. TBD
\- If we do the longer route\, then walk south to Frederick\, then west to Fromme\, and west on Chaucer into Hunter Park
\- explore the pond\, maybe see some ducklings\!
\- then find our way through the neighbourhood to Princess Park\. Walk north through the park\, following the trail as it crosses Wellington and then Princess\, eventually coming to Braemar\. Then walk east back to where we started

Bring water and a snack. There are water fountains and washrooms at the Princess Park parking lot
