Forest Management Educational Hike at Wunderlich County Park

Details

Join Sierra Club Loma Prieta Outings and the LP Forest Protection Committee for a unique joint hike in Wunderlich County Park, Woodside, on March 24, 2024.

Learn about forest health and fire resiliency along our SC 1A hike (Bear Gulch Trail to Meadow Trail to Alambique Trail). The hike is about 5 miles, with about 700 feet of gain.

We will take short stops to view and discuss forest management conservation projects in Wunderlich.

To attend this hike, you must RSVP to the Sierra Club Calendar listing for March 24th. https://www.sierraclub.org/loma-prieta/calendar

Meet on Skyline Blvd, near the junction of the Alambique trail and Skyline Trail. This place is just south of the El Corte Madera Open Space Parking Lot.

CARPOOL: If you wish to carpool, please meet me at the Park & Ride off of Hwy 280 at Page Mill at 8:30 AM.

You must also complete a medical form, retain in your day pack, be prepared to briefly show it to the hike leader. Then, you put it in your first aid kit. https://www.sierraclub.org/loma-prieta/outings-forms-waivers-and-safety-management-plans

Bring lunch, which we will enjoy at a beautiful location, plenty of water, and appropriate clothing for the weather conditions. Heavy rain cancels the hike.

Whether you're interested in political activism, local politics, or simply exploring the outdoors, this event offers a venue to learn, collaborate, and advocate for a greener future. Let's come together to work to mitigate climate change and work towards healthier forests!
