BMHS Sunday 8/31 Phleger Estate Hike

MEET: 9:00 a.m. at Zwierlein Parking area in Huddart Park, 1100 Kings Mountain Rd., Woodside, CA 94062.

DIRECTIONS: From Woodside Rd, take Kings Mountain Rd. approximately 2.2 miles. Turn right at the Huddart Park entrance. Entrance fee is $6 each car; be sure to fill out the envelope at the entrance station. Continue into the park to the Zwierlein picnic/parking area. Flush toilets at the trailhead, no other restroom facilities on the hike.

HIKE DESCRIPTION: We will hike from Huddart Park on the Crystal Springs trail and Richards Road to the Miramontes trail, which has recently been repaired and re-routed, and then make a loop on the Mt. Redondo and Raymundo trails before returning back on Miramontes trail and Crystal Springs. About 7.5 miles 1350 feet, with some steep sections. This is a mostly shady hike through beautiful second-growth redwood forest. The area was logged in the mid-1800's so it has had time to recover much of its natural character.

This is a back country hike. Please complete your medical form and carry with you (hikers will be asked to confirm this with the leader)

BRING: At least 2L water, lunch and something to sit on, completed Medical Form; poles may be helpful.

1. Signup for this hike via Sierra Club site ONLY. (This Meetup site is for people to coordinate carpool amongst themselves only. Carpool transportation is at the sole risk of the participants.)
2. Please provide emergency contact name and phone number as well as your email and phone contact information when you sign up.
3. Complete, print and bring with you the required medical form for this backcountry outing. You will show the leader that the form has been completed and then you will stow it in your own first aid kit with your privacy respected. In the event of a medical emergency, the form will be given to first responders, so include information that they should be aware of when providing you with emergency medical treatment.
