What we’re about
Organised in partnership by Scott Logic and FINOS, the Open Source London meetup aims to expand contributions to and consumption of open source technologies that support large enterprises in addressing their business challenges.
We wish to encourage everyone to consume and contribute safely to open source software by fostering collaboration in the community around open source solutions and services for large organisations across the economy.
With expert guest speakers and facilitators at each session, you can expect: demos of the latest open source technologies (don’t worry, no pitches!); case study presentations on transformational or enabling projects; investigations of tech, down to the code level; and interactive sessions exploring agile ways of working and how to foster an open source culture.
We've had the privilege of welcoming to our Open Source Meetup events high-calibre speakers from global organisations including AWS, Lloyds Banking Group, NatWest Group, The Linux Foundation, Barclays, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and VMware. You can watch previous talks on YouTube here.
In the true spirit of openness, this group welcomes people at all levels of experience, from students and undergraduates to senior business leaders, including:
• Senior business leaders and OSS enablers
• Engineering and open source contributors
• DevOps and quality engineering
• Agile Coaches, Scrum Masters and Product Owners
• Risk, Cyber, Audit and Regulators
• Undergraduates, graduates and other students
• Those seeking engineering opportunities
• Open source community and networkers
We look forward to seeing you at our next event.

CALL FOR SPEAKERS
If you are interested in presenting at one of our meetups or giving a 15-minute lightning talk on an open source project, please message meetup organiser Claire Cocks. We particularly welcome talk submissions from women speakers, speakers from ethnic minorities, and speakers from other under-represented groups.

OUR COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
We believe that the open source community should be representative of the wider community, and that we can achieve this by valuing diversity and fostering inclusion.
While we have a long way to go, we want our open source meetup groups to play their part in delivering positive change. We will take an agile, incremental approach to this, reviewing and learning as we go. Planned initiatives in 2021/22 include:
• a commitment to avoid all-white or male-only speaker line-ups at our events, with help from the wider community
• new activities to facilitate inclusive networking, for those who want to network at our events
• investigating the best means of supporting inclusive interactions at our events for those attending online
We will collaborate with you and ask for your feedback on these initiatives. We will also be encouraging you to share anonymous diversity data with us. This is to help us set a baseline, target our efforts, and measure change over time as we work to make our meetup events as diverse, equitable and inclusive as they can be.
Our Open Source meetup groups have been awarded the Gold badge by CHAOSS. The event badging initiative measures the inclusivity of different technical events through human reviews. You can find out more about the initiative here https://chaoss.community/diversity-and-inclusion-badging/
