Abstract: Discerning and distinguishing between multiple speakers in an audio stream has always presented a unique challenge. This talk dives into how the AI team solved this problem and how the newsroom can use the outputs to superpower their products.

Tech Talk 2: Building a computer vision based object identification and tracking service
Speaker: Nageela Yusuf @Cerebriam Studio
Abstract: Creating a tracking service for a consumer video editor can be challenging since you have to consider user input and creativity, the accuracy and robustness of tracking, the cost and speed of compute, and the aesthetics of the output video. In this talk we’ll be talking about how we built the person tracking service for the Cerebriam Studio online editor, and in doing so we’ll cover our R&D with yolo5 and yolo8, how we managed the rules of composition for videography, as well as how we kept costs down.
