Merrrry Xmas! We were talking about this in the pub recently and I mentioned a) Eyes Wide Shut is pretty much the only Stanley Kubrick film I haven't seen and b) I'd already bought a ticket to see this at the PCC. It's been on the To Watch list for ages, particularly on the big screen where its visual beauty can really stand out.

This was Kubrick's final film (and the final act of the Cruise/Kidman union), an erotic drama in which a prominent doctor triggered by jealousy over his wife, joins an underground sex group, only to find he may be in over his head. Apparently, this was loosely based on Arthur Schnitzler's Dream Story, which I'm pretty sure I've read but don't remember too much of. But there are a lot of theories about this movie, its relationship to supposed real world societies and Kubrick's use of colour, particularly red and blue.

Tickets here, I'm in C5. Film starts at 8.20pm, let's meet for one at 7.45pm at the Imperial beforehand and head in afterwards.
