Zero Effect has slipped off the radar in recent years but it was a very well reviewed shaggy dog detective flick with some comedic elements. And, as it's the 90's, a pretty good soundtrack too! It's been on the watchlist for a while.
Bill Pullman plays Daryl Zero, the world's greatest private eye, who just happens to suffer from a bunch of weird quirks and severe aversion to people (I'll leave any diagnoses to others), while Ben Stiller is his public face, Steve Arlo. When they get assigned a blackmail case by a shady billionaire, Zero finds himself becoming emotionally involved against his will. Classic noir set up, right?
