Percussionist Evelyn Glennie & Sheherazade

Details

World-leading Percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie joins Brighton Philharmonic for a musical journey from the Scottish Highlands to fairy tales of Arabia.

She takes centre stage in Sir James MacMillan's powerful and visually compelling Veni Veni Emmanuel, whilst Peter Maxwell Davis' An Orkney Wedding With Sunrise depicts a somewhat boozy wedding party, complete with Highland Bagpipes to wake up the hung-over revellers the next morning!

After the interval, Rimsky Korsakov's beautifully melodic Sheherazade tells the story of A Thousand and One Nights in one of the most frequently performed of all orchestral showpieces.

As usual, I'm happy book group tickets in our favourite spot (best value for money), £20.50 per ticket. Message me for details if you don't already have them.

Keep an eye on "comments" below for any optional pre-/post-concert arrangements. Otherwise, we'll meet at foyer entrance (by the box office) by 2.15 latest. Concert starts 2.45.
