Details

  • Hippos with Tim Pond – Wildlife Drawing Meetup (Online)
  • Tuesday, 29th July 2025
  • 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM BST
  • Online
  • £12 (50% donated to conservation)
  • All skill levels welcome

Join us for a fun and fascinating evening as we dive into the semi-aquatic world of hippos, the second-largest land animals on Earth. We’ll be joined by special guest Tim Pond – renowned wildlife artist, educator, and author – for a unique creative class that combines drawing, learning, and myth-busting.

Did you know? Hippos are more closely related to whales than horses – despite their name meaning “river horse.” These amazing creatures are not just fascinating to study and draw, they also play a vital role in their ecosystems as a keystone species.

What to expect:

  • Live drawing demonstrations from both Tim Pond and host Jennie Webber
  • Artistic tips and techniques for all abilities and easy-to-understand animal anatomy
  • Fascinating facts and storytelling about hippos and their habitats
  • Q&A time for your creative and wildlife-related questions
  • A relaxed, welcoming atmosphere where you can draw at your own pace

All you need is paper, a pencil, rubber, and sharpener – or feel free to use any materials you prefer. Before the event, we’ll send out a link and full joining instructions. After the class, all ticket holders will receive a recording to rewatch at any time.

Spaces are limited – book now and get ready to draw, learn, and be inspired.
