Marketing Plan - Target Readers - Book Pitch

This month we will be working on the first part of 'creating a marketing plan for your book'(s).

We will discuss the main steps in creating a plan and then split up into groups and focus on three questions.

• Who is your tribe (readers) - describe your typical reader

• How do they interact with the world (i.e. What are their interests, social groups, what groups do they follow, who are their influencers. what websites, magazine and book do they reads)

• Why would they be interested in your book.

The objective is to get you focused on the needs of your reader and to think about the types of things you can do, (market), to start to build interest and connections to potential prospects.

However, if you don't want to do this for your book this time, then that's fine too - we will be repeating this exercise again.

By doing this as a group we can help and support each other and come up with ideas that help both you and the group.

We will also discuss how we can use the website and facebook to help us with our marketing plans.

As before, we hope to have a mix of people who have tried marketing their books either by themselves or via a publisher, as well as those who still have to experience this joy.

Pitching your Book - 3 volunteers

For the first 15-20 minutes, we will be trialling 3 'Pitch your Book' session.

This will be an opportunity to practice your 3 min book pitch to the group and get feedback. We are looking for 3 volunteers, so if you are interested please let me know - first come first served basis.

You will need to specify who you are pitching to and why, and you will have just 3 mins to get your message across. The group will then give feedback on what they thought you did well and recommendations on how it could be improved.

--------------------------------------------------- We are back at the Hpod again, which is a quiet venue that is set up as a meeting space with a projector so we can tackle this topic properly.

Unfortunately, we need to cover the cost of the room for the 3 hours so we need to make a small charge.

Please ask to join facebook so we can share more with you.
