Silent Walking Meditation & Traditional Chinese Energy Practice

Details
A Quiet Morning Practice in Richmond Park
We begin the morning by walking quietly into the nature, allowing the breath to soften and the senses to awaken. With each step, we shift our awareness inward — away from words, toward the rhythm of breath, movement, and presence.
This is a simple and gentle morning practice. No need for prior experience — only a willingness to be quiet, breathe, and notice.

9:10 AM — Silent Walking Meditation
We’ll walk slowly and mindfully through the woodland paths and open meadows of Richmond Park. This is not a hike — it’s a practice of deep presence. You are invited to feel each step, notice your breath, and soften into the landscape.
10:00 AM — Ba Duan Jin Qigong Practice
In a quiet grassy clearing, we’ll close the morning with Baduanjin (八段錦) — a classical form of Qigong composed of eight gentle, standing movements.
This practice is breath-led, meditative, and deeply grounding. Each movement supports energy circulation, loosens tension, and brings the mind back into the body.
10:30 AM — End of Practice
We close the session with gratitude, allowing you to return to your day with a clearer mind and a more spacious body.
### 🤫 A Note on Silence
This is a fully silent practice. From the moment we begin walking until the end of the session, we invite you to let go of speech and turn your attention inward. If possible also restrict your usage of using your mobile phone.

### 🌬️ What is Ba Duan Jin?
Ba Duan Jin, or “Eight Pieces of Brocade,” is one of the most accessible and time-honored Qigong sequences in Chinese tradition.
It is composed of eight simple movements designed to:
- Open the body’s energetic channels (meridians)
- Promote energy circulation
- Regulate the breath and calm the nervous system
- Gently strengthen the spine, joints, and internal organs
The movements are repetitive, slow, and synchronised with breath. Practicing Ba Duan Jin regularly can help build internal vitality while inviting a deep sense of inner calm — ideal after a meditative walk.
