It’s AD 70 and the Roman army has descended upon Londinium. This self-guided adventure is a roller coaster of Roman, medieval, and modern day changes in our constantly evolving, global, trading City.

You will be kicking off at one of the Roman London Wall’s entrance gates, Moorgate. Hunt for the answers to thrilling clues on the impact of the 1666 Great Fire of London, the building of the medieval Guild Halls, what remains of the Roman London Wall and finish in the year 1710 at St Paul’s Cathedral.

Along the way you can drop into one of the churches used in the film Four Weddings and a Funeral – the one where Charles had second thoughts.

This is one of a series of "taster days" run by Beyond The Map London which is why it is completely free. This is perfect for those who want to meet others, get to know a little bit about London City and enjoy a refreshingly different style of walking tour with the the added element of really getting your eye in on some hidden details along our walk - a bit like a game of eye spy, hopefully you'll use your detective skills to solve our clues.

How it works

We will meet at a venue in Moorgate, where you will meet the BTML team and spend a little time getting to know us and each other. Each attendee will be emailed a code which will enable you to access our walk on your smartphone, all you need is a little data. In groups, you will work together to solve our clues and find your way around our trail. All of our walks include information about public services and some of our favourite places to stop off for a bite to eat and drink.

We will re-group at a venue near St. Paul's where we can all relax, have some nibbles and a drink and get social after a lovely walk on a (hopefully!) bright spring Sunday.

We do advise that you are dressed for the ever unpredictable weather that the U.K notoriously enjoys, so pack a jumper and bring your brolly and a bottle of water.
