Burton brings a vivid sense of inner conflict to his role as a pathetic, defrocked and alcoholic priest, reduced to working as a tour guide driving a bus of Baptist schoolteachers on a trip through Mexico. Adapting Tennessee Williams’ play, Huston amps up the torrid, hothouse atmosphere. And there’s superb support from Sue Lyons, Ana Gardner and Deborah Kerr.
