About us
London Community Managers is a new group for people who build, lead or support communities and want to meet peers face to face in London. Community managers, event organizers, volunteer community leaders and people exploring the profession are welcome.
The aim is to learn from one another, make professional friendships and share practical approaches to welcoming members, encouraging participation, moderation, inclusion, running events and understanding community impact. Proposed formats include informal coffee conversations, small-group roundtables and peer-led discussions of real community-management challenges. Members will be able to suggest topics. Dates and venues have not yet been scheduled.
The group is organized by Gareth Wilson, founder of OCMGR, a community-management software project. That affiliation is disclosed for transparency; the group is focused on people learning together, not product demonstrations or sales. You do not need to use or buy OCMGR, or any other product, to take part. Please bring questions, experiences and a willingness to listen, and keep promotion secondary to useful conversation.
