What we’re about
When you mix a love of food with a book a club!
Meeting periodically to share dishes from a pre agreed recipe book. This recipe book club is about social connection via a shared love of cooking.
The idea being to meet every now and then (initially thinking bi monthly with the thought to expand to monthly should there be takers) with each attendee bringing a dish from a pre agreed recipe book. Allowing people a space to try out dishes, connect over food and share a dining experience. Inclusive to everyone who is willing to try out a recipe and bring it along. We’ll initially arrange events around meeting in parks in the warmer weather and look at cold weather options following the first few meet ups!
FAQ’s
What do I need to bring to join in?
Please bring a dish from the recipe book outlined in the event information. In the interest of minimising waste please also bring Tupperware to take any leftovers home as well as your own cutlery and plate to try other peoples dishes. Given this is going to be hosted in parks initially please also consider bringing a picnic blanket, towel or rug should you have one available.
What if I don’t have the recipe book for a specific event?
This doesn’t require purchasing a new book! There are often recipes online associated with recipe book launches and many library’s have a wide selection of recipe books on loan. If you do want a book for yourself there are usually options on second hand sites such as eBAY and AbeBooks.
Can I attend if I have dietary requirements?
Whilst we want everyone to be able to attend this is a space for amateur cooks and therefore food will not be produced in allergen safe kitchens. Please partake at your own risk when it comes to intolerances and allergies. For personal preferences we’ll ask each attendee to label whether a dish is vegetarian/vegan/pescatarian when they arrive but again partaking is a personal choice and comes with its own risks.
