Owned by the National Trust, Nymans Woods is a great place to visit all year round. The site is especially lovely during spring and summer when wildflowers bloom beneath the beech trees and on the banks of streams and ponds.
We start our walk from Balcombe station and along the way we will be passing some lovely sites, working farms with great hilltop views.
And so this is NOT a beginner's walk, a fair bit of uphill and a couple of short but steeper ones too.
Before exploring the woods itself we will have time for a relaxing picnic/mini break on a welcoming clearing near a lake.
About 15km/9miles

The walk starts at 9.30.
Meeting point is at Balcombe station car park.
You are responsible for your own tickets and travel. The group meets in Balcombe, not in London. The return is from the same station, Balcombe.

Your train leaves London bridge at 8.42 ( www.thetrainline.com)
To make sure you get there in time please check for any disruptions on the underground service at
https://tfl.gov.uk/tube-dlr-overground/status/

Your train arrives at Balcome at 9.25.
You exit the station towards the station car park, where we meet. I will be wearing a high vis vest so I'll be easy to spot.

The walk is about 15km at leisurely pace. Easy but it does require a general fitness level and comfy shoes! Please also bring enough water (min 1l) and snacks with you.

I am very much looking forward meeting you and show you this lovely side of Sussex!
