Details

Hey everyone! We're back, and this time we're joining the lovely folks at The UAL Creative Computing Institute in Camberwell.

As usual we have 3 tip top talks lined up, followed by some beverages and conversations at a local pub.

The event will also be recorded and live streamed.

Please only RSVP if you are coming in person, and be sure to update your RSVP if can no longer make it, as we use this to calculate the amount of drinks and pizza to order.

In no particular order we have:

## Art, Coding & Meaning - by Luyang Zou

Art is a way of communication, to deliver a message without words.
With coding, it gives artists another method of expression, also it gives the artworks another dimension which is the connections of audiences.
Therefore, except the visual and sound, the meaning behind a new media artwork is more essential for the richness of an art piece.

Luyang Zou, founder of LAB ZOU, is a London based new media artist.

He graduated from interactive architecture lab, UCL and worked in Arup Lighting.

Luyang’s works exhibited in national theatre London, Today art museum Beijing, A4 Art Museum Chengdu, etc. He also directed projects for NIKE, the Mixc, Myton Hospice, and COP26.

## Making Music From Memory - by Ricardo and Yong Won

Ricardo and Yong Won will share their journey on creating experiences from vocal expression, leading to the development of Respoken, a light and sound installation that creates music from the memory of an audience. Public is invited to experience a demonstration of the piece!

Ricardo Adrian Lopez Gutierrez is an architect and interactive designer working in the intersection of music, media, and design. Driven by an ever-growing obsession for music, Ricardo aims to utilise his background in architecture, his curiosity in media, and technological innovation to bring a novel light to the act of performance.

Yong Won Choi defines himself as an artist and scientist. It is an era where many arts achieve two-way communication through science and technology. He tries to explore the world in an unconventional and fused way from the delicate boundary between human sensibility and perception.

## Expanding the audiovisual through our own modelling: new practices using text audio and moving image - by Luís Arandas

The field of creative artificial intelligence offers a space for the arts to exist. Not only by appropriating systems in practice, but also to inspire their design. This talk offers an insight into my research on generative systems, mostly in audiovisual, presenting some critical positions on them. I will demonstrate the artistic projects I have been developing and talk a little about the software that supports them, and how it can broaden contemporary artistic practice.

Artist and technologist based in London. Currently a visiting postgrad in the Creative Computing Institute, UAL, I research creative artificial intelligence. I am a PhD Fellow in the University of Porto alongside INESC-TEC research center and simultaneously hold an integrated position in the University of Aveiro through the funded Xperimus project.
