6:45pm - Welcome Talk
7:00pm - ITV's Common Platform - Tom Clarke
A dive into the technology and culture behind the platform that underpins all of ITV's key applications - from the system that pays Ant & Dec to the ITV Hub. Will touch on AWS, devops at scale, everything as code, and more.
7:30pm - Why DevOps Transformations are Failing - James Betteley
Unfortunately, a DevOps transformation isn't quite as simple as "sudo apt-get install DevOps". But how hard can it possibly be?
I'll re-live some of my first-hand experiences of DevOps failures, so that you too can suck at Devops transformations! Or you could learn from my mistakes. Up to you.
8:00pm - The Comeback of Grids - Evgeny Zislis
The year 2015 put containers in the spotlight, but now that everyone is using Docker it is time to put containers in production. Grid clusters are again on the rise, this time in the form of Google Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, Amazon ECS and Mesosphere just to name a few. This talk will explain the basic principles of how grids solve problems related to managing large fleets of containers, and what new problems grids introduce to application developers.
8:30pm - Food, More Drinks and socialising
