What we’re about

Welcome :)

The aim of this discussion group (with a very long name) is to connect through our shared experiences and knowledge of daily life affected by a health condition such as a disability, mobility-challenge, long-term injury or illness.

Though we have different experiences in how our health conditions affect our daily lives, we have something important in common and I’d like us to share our thoughts and insight amongst each other in a safe environment.

Whether you are on a never-ending waiting list while dealing with chronic pain, are generally unable to pursue your hobbies, interests or career of choice, are feeling alone in your suffering, or anything else, let's talk about it.

I have been dealing with what the hospital identifies as Scapular Dyskinesia, though in less simple terms my shoulder blades are extremely elevated and my lower trapezius muscles aren't functioning as they should. This had led me down many routes of investigation which were unfortunately also delayed due to living abroad and no professionals understanding what was going on. My 'healing' process heavily includes physiotherapy as well as general muscle relaxation and nerve conduction studies are pending. Not to mention how my environment and stress levels have helped to decrease tension in my body too.

Please come along if you feel this could benefit you, or even just to listen to others speak until you may feel comfortable to.

Hope to see you join us soon!

Zoë
