Lunchtime Lecture: Illustration Awards @ the V&A Museum + Social!!!
Details
Let's revisit the V&A for another interesting lunchtime lecture: Illustration Awards 2024
They say: This talk will highlight the winning artworks of the V&A Illustration Awards 2024, including the artists’ inspirations and artistic process.
The V&A Illustration Awards is a free, biennial competition celebrating excellence in illustration and contemporary practice, and judged by a panel of prominent illustrators and industry experts.
Last year, a record of over 2000 entries were submitted. Our 2024 winners drew on a wide range of inspirations from across the globe. This talk will explore the winners and runners-up for the five revised categories: Adult Fiction, Adult Non-Fiction, Advertising and Commercial, Illustration for Children, and Emerging Illustrator.
Annemarie Bilclough is currently the Frederick Warne Curator of Illustration at the V&A. She has more than 20 years' curatorial experience working with prints, illustration and book arts. Recent projects included the Beatrix Potter: Drawn to Nature and Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser exhibitions.
After the talk we'll go to their beautiful café for eats and drinks. However, if it's too busy there, I have a plan B for a very nice local Café/Bistro in a surprising place...
I will meet you at the main entrance on the left hand side.
The Meetup fee for this event is £3.00 – which is payable on the day.
Please keep an eye out for the Meetup sign. If you do not see us please call/text me on: 0739 623 3874 – text is best! - psssst! Don't forget to say your name in the message.

Hope to see lots of you there :)
NB. As usual there will be others coming along from my other Meetup family ;)
