Learn English Through the News (Online)

Improve your English using news articles. This will be a weekly class, helping you to practise reading, vocabulary, speaking and listening skills.

This uses Zoom software. It is aimed at people at Intermediate level or above.

You should be able to access the class from a computer, tablet or smartphone. It is best to make sure your device is plugged in or is fully charged, as the app uses quite a bit of battery. You will need to be somewhere that is reasonably quiet to take part.

The Zoom link will be available when you have RSVPed Yes to the event. Please always come to this event description and click on the link here (the link may be different for each class). You can join at any time during the event, but obviously it is better if you come at the start. If you have any problems with the technology or finding the access link please send a message.

The class is led by Mark, who is a native British speaker. Educated at Cambridge University, he has been the organiser of the London International Meetup for over 15 years, has worked as a tour guide, and is the author of a website about British culture.

There is a charge of £5 for each lesson you attend. This can be paid afterwards by bank transfer or by Paypal (you can use a debit card / credit card if you do not have a Paypal account). You will be sent details of how to make the payment after your first class (please ask if you do not receive this).

One-to-one or small group classes may be available - please ask if you are interested.
