Farley Granger is superb in Hitchcock’s experimental (and controversial) ‘continuous action’ film based on a real-life murder.

Director - Alfred Hitchcock
With
James Stewart, Farley Granger, John Dall
USA 1948. 80min

Granger is superb in Hitchcock’s experimental ‘continuous action’ version of Patrick Hamilton’s stage play, based on the real-life Leopold and Loeb case. He plays Philip Morgan, one of two young intellectual sophisticates (the other is played by Gun Crazy’s Dall) who murder a classmate simply to assert their superiority. Three years later, Hitchcock cast Granger in another lead role, in Strangers On A Train.

I am in E9. We’ll go for dinner at Wagamama afterwards
