The Ouse Valley Viaduct (or the Balcombe Viaduct) carries the Brighton Main Line over the River Ouse in Sussex, England. It is located to the north of Haywards Heath and the south of Balcombe. Known for its ornate design, the structure has been described as "probably the most elegant viaduct in Britain."

We shall start our hike in Balcombe and go around and under the viaduct - picnic lunch and then hike around Ardingley reservoir to finish in a local pub before catching the train home.

Ardingly Activity Centre provides watersports for the public including wind surfing, kayaking, powerboating, paddleboarding and dinghy sailing as well the Black Hut Kiosk that serves drinks and snacks.

Bring a packed lunchbox ands water - and be prepared please for the weather.
About 10 miles, rated moderate at 5/10 for toughness.
