Spanish London Film Festival: "Deaf" at Cine Lumiere

Dear LEC members, we are finally back in action!
Please join us at our 1st Meetup Event in the Club's new stage, which will be FREE from a Meetup/organisational fee point of view.

Join me for this award-winning Spanish movie at Cine Lumiere. We will watch the movie, then go for a chat to discuss it and get to know each other a little bit over a drink.

Deaf follows young deaf woman Ángela and her hearing partner, who are expecting a baby, unable to know whether their child will be hearing or deaf until birth. The clever use of sound and silence immerses us in Ángela’s experience and explores the struggles she faces, given the inadequacies of the world for deaf people. This beautiful, nuanced depiction of their journey won the Audience Award at the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year.
In Spanish with English subtitles. This film will be screened with descriptive subtitles.
