Walk length 18miles/29km approx. Circular.

A spectacular ong circular walk from Marlow to Turville past a number of historic chiltern villages such as Hambleden and Fingest.

At Turville there is the site of the Cobstone Windmill. The Cobstone windmill was built around 1816 and featured in the film
"Chitty Chitty Bang Bang."

St. Bartholomew Church in the village of Fingest was built in the 12th century and has some unusual and rare twin gables.

The walk starts from Marlow which holds a prime position on the Thames and is both historic and very scenic.

Marlow Common has the remains of some of the best preserved World War One training trenches in the UK. Constructed in 1915 for soldiers at the nearby Bovington Green Camp in preparation for the front line. There is a plaque with information on the trench layout.

There will be a lunch stop point at one of the villages along route.

PLEASE BE AWARE THIS IS A VERY LONG HILLY HIKE SO PLEASE ONLY RSVP IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH THIS. BE AWARE IF THE WEATHER IS BAD THE HIKE MAY BE SHORTENED.

Please bring a packed lunch and water for the walk. The walk should finish at 6pm and includes a pack lunch stop and pub stop at the end (the pub is a 2min walk from the railway station), however the time may be earlier or later than this depending on the weather and pace (this is a complete day hike, you are advised not to arrange anything for the evening).
