# FILM JAM SPECIAL – VERTICAL FILM CHALLENGE!
Saturday 7 November 2026 | 11am–5pm
Meeting Point: National Theatre, Southbank, London
We’re putting together a last-minute Film Jam special this Saturday!
This time, we’re doing something a little different — shooting short films in vertical format (9:16), with the opportunity to submit them to the Raindance Vertical Film Festival!
Whether you’re an actor, director, writer, cinematographer, editor or simply someone who loves filmmaking, come along and get involved.
### HOW WILL THE DAY WORK?
11am – Meet at the National Theatre
We’ll get together, form teams and decide what we’re making.
You can bring your own script or develop an idea with your team on the day. We’ll also have a creative prompt for anyone who needs a little inspiration.
11.30am–5pm – Go Make Your Film!
Teams will head off to their chosen locations around London to shoot a 5–10 minute vertical short film.
The challenge is to tell a complete story with a beginning, middle and end.
5pm – Meet at a Pub
We’ll regroup, share how the day went and enjoy a drink with fellow filmmakers.
### THE RAINDANCE CHALLENGE
For teams interested in taking their films further, there’s an opportunity to edit and submit their work to the Raindance Vertical Film Festival.
Editing deadline: 12 November
Raindance submission deadline: 13 November
Submitting is entirely optional. The main aim is to get together, make something creative and have fun!
